The firm was established in 2017, following a merger between David Lacide & Co. Solicitors and Scott Doyle Molyneux Solicitors following the closure of Ormskirk Magistrates Court in 2016. David Lacide and Kerry Doyle are both experienced criminal solicitors and David Lacide also specialises in employment law.
David qualified as a solicitor in November 1985 and for the last 30 years has mainly worked in Criminal Litigation and Employment Law. He has qualified as a Higher Rights Advocate and for the last 15 years has undertaken advocacy in both the Magistrates and Crown Court. He is a member of the Preston Duty Solicitor Scheme.
Kerry Doyle has been qualified as a solicitor since 1988 and has worked in Ormskirk since 2003. Prior to that she was a partner in a North Manchester practice dealing with family and criminal cases. She is a member of the Preston Duty Solicitor Scheme.
We are located in Westgate, Skelmersdale however we are able to offer representation and advocacy in police stations and courts nationally. We have many cases throughout Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester most commonly in Preston, Liverpool and Wigan Magistrates Courts and Liverpool and Preston Crown Courts.
Our offices are fully accessible but if anyone has special requirements, contact us and we will do our best to help, including home visits if necessary.

We can represent you in prosecutions not only by the police, but also by the DWP, RSCPA, National Crime Agency, Local Authority and Customs and Excise. For clients on low income or benefits, legal aid will often be available.
We will help and advise you from the start of the investigation to its conclusion. If you are arrested we can offer police station representation to advise you in person during the interview, without any charge to you. We are able to deal with your case in either the Magistrates or Crown court, where David Lacide has full rights of advocacy. Alternatively, we will discuss with you instructing an appropriate barrister.

In addition, the firm also undertakes employment type work including advice and support for local firms and employees covering all work type situations and in particular the drafting and completion of Settlement Agreements. In many cases your fees for these agreements will be met by your employer. If your case progresses to an industrial tribunal we will be able to represent you.
